Hey there, 'Marley' is doing great. The housetraining is going very well for a pup so young, Steve and I are both pleasantly surprised. Everyone who sees her think's she is just a doll, and we've passed on your web adress to a few very interested friends! Thanks again, Liz.

Hello Charlene;

I can't thank you enough for this little bundle of joy. Lola is doing great!
She settled very well in her new environment and she is now very active...she drives me nuts sometimes : ) Ivory has what we call pitfits (she runs from the bedroom to the living room until she tires out), and Lola seems to have picked up on that as well. She also eats very well, I have trouble putting the bowl down, her face is already in it : ) The picture attached is not too great. I had to scan it at work but I promise to send you a nice one very soon.

Thank you!
Mylène

Hi Charlene,

I just wanted to send you a current photo (attached) of my Beagle (which I named Hannah). She just had her first birthday and is a very happy and healthy dog. Thank you PawsRus for providing me with such an excellent quality puppy.

Thanks,

Hello Charlene,

On my younger son's (Dan) advice, I decided to call the puppy "Sushi" (exotic name for a rather exotic race) and the name brings back memories of "Souki", the wonderful Medium American Poodle that my brother in law gave us in 1970 when Dan was 2 weeks old.

On Friday, I introduced Sushi to Marie, the woman who will do her grooming. Marie was so delighted by Sushi that she trimmed her hair, shaved her anal area, and stuck a bow on her forehead (which she has now lost) and refused any payment. Attached is a photo. She also recommended a good veterinarian whose fees are reasonable.

Shushi is calm, however very curious, intelligent, active and playful. I have given her all of the deworming medicine. She has slept through the last four nights. She has increased her food intake and comes when I call her. She is perfectly clean in her cage. I had a bit of a problem with housebreaking however. I began to paper train her, and then, I discovered that a puppy can be litter trained, which I decided to do since I live alone and I thought it would be easier on the dog than the "going outside" method (specially in November - we could have a snowstorm any day and I think it would be difficult to throw the puppy into a snowbank to do her 'business" - . A lady at "Pets Smart" recommended a Pine litter which is noisy when the puppy gets into it. It seemed to scare Sushi who refused to do anything on it. I replaced it with newspaper; that seemed a little better - since Sushi did her last pi drops on it. And Marie told me that I should avoid picking up the puppy when she is about to do her business on the floor, that I should walk her to the right place
10-15 min after eating or drinking (I have to observe her) while using key words like pi, business, etc. which once chosen, should remain the same. BUT, yesterday, I raked leaves in my backyard and took Sushi out with me. She did her business, and I congratulated her and gave her a treat. Since then, she barks when she wants to go out and has not done anything in the house. She seems to know what she wants, and it works......

She loves the leash and really enjoys playing in the dry leaves in the backyard.

She is absolutely lovely. And your instructions on your web site as well as the little book you gave me are very useful. Thank you so much for everything.

Madeleine
