To potential buyers and whom this may concern:

I write this letter based solely on my opinions, research, experiences and what I perceive to be fact on my own free will. I recently purchased a puppy from Paws R Us Kennel and have had a very positive experience. My story is as follows....

After months of research on different breeds, searching all the classifieds from every paper in Ontario and Quebec as well as speaking with many different breeders of show champions etc., I found Paws R Us.

Now being that I am dedicated to animal welfare and the ethical and humane treatment of animals {I am a PETA member} naturally I was somewhat concerned about purchasing from a "kennel". However, after doing research and asking myself: If I were to purchase from a store where did they get those puppies? The answer is obviously from back yard breeders, whom I would never get a chance to meet or know any of the puppies history. If I purchased from the classifieds in the newspaper and the litter was purebreds then it is highly likely that they were bred for financial gain and it was not an accident. Therefore it wasn't really all that different ...could be worse because al lot of times the owner has no idea how to care for new puppies or the mother during whelping and deaths occur. I purchased my Chihuahua from the local paper and she has been fine, however the owner did lose a pup during delivery and he did not offer any advice or knowledge as for the care of the puppy.

At Paws R Us they are very knowledgeable about all their breeds and very helpful, as well as being informative. In short, I visited the kennel where I was pleasantly surprised to see all the puppies as well as the adults be very friendly and easily approachable. Even in the pregnant females there was no aggression at all. Nor was there any aggression exhibited from the mothers when approaching their young. I've heard some comments about the dogs being very friendly because they are somehow " starved for affection" but this seems ridiculous to me because if a dog is mistreated, unloved and unsocialized he doesn't respond to strangers eagerly, he will be shy, standoffish and more than likely aggressive. So, I feel that the temperaments of the dogs speak for themselves. I purchased a bloodhound whom we have named Zeke from the kennel this August and his post purchase check-up was great. My vet was also impressed by the preventative treatment he had already received. We are all happy with our pup and will definitely be a repeat customer just a soon as I have a few more acres!!

Please keep in mind that nothing in nature is 100% risk free, or can be guaranteed to never be ill...just think of how often we see our doctors or have been ill. When purchasing a pet be prepared for preventative care and treatment. We don't go through life illness free and chances are our dogs won't either.

Hoping everyone else's puppies are as great as mine.....
