Hello Charlene,
I know that this has been a long time coming but it has been very busy with the family and work. Please feel free to post this on your website.
My name is Marietta D'Alessio and I had the pleasure of visiting PAWS R US KENNEL at the end of December. The reason for my visit was to assist my 20 year old son in selecting a new puppy for his new girlfriend. There were some pre-determined criteria as to the kind of puppy he could bring home to her family as her mom was certainly specific to the limitations.
We needed to select a small breed preferably one that did not shed too much and was good with people in general. I decided to venture out to Paws R Us Kennels not really quite sure what I would find. I know that there had been some questions concerning their kennel and this visit gave me an opportunity to formulate my own opinion.
I was cheerfully greeted by the family as they were expecting me that day, and was given a full visit of their premises. In one small barn like structure we were introduced to many different puppies and their mothers. We had the opportunity to visit with some Bichon Frise, Long haired Chihuahua, Maltese, Pugs and a few more that I can not remember right now. Each of the mothers had their own little pen where she could come and check us out, as I am sure that she would want to see who may adopt one of her puppies.
To my amazement every single mother seemed to introduce herself by giving us a friendly wag of the tail and coming right up to our hand so we could pet her. They all seemed so proud to display her liter of puppies. We were both truly amazed and we had a difficult time selecting the mom and her liter since we would assume that the disposition of the mom would certainly be passed on to her puppies. They were all so friendly, gentle and just seemed so social.
We were also given some education as to what breeds were good with kids which seemed a little more hyper than others and all of our questions were answered. The smell was not the greatest but hey... we are talking a kennel!
We were then taken to a larger barn where the larger dogs were housed and we expected that they would not be quite as loving as the smaller breeds. Surprise, surprise, once again to our amazement the same thing These dogs were happy, friendly and proud to show us their puppies. The larger dogs had larger pens with special flooring and they all seemed quite familiar with the hand that fed them.
We were very satisfied that we were getting a great puppy that fits all of the criteria and we know that this puppy came from a very nice friendly parents. We are looking forward to picking up our puppy so that my son can give it to his girlfriend on Valentine's Day....I am sure that the new puppy will spend a few days with us at home actually my daughter insists on it........I have a feeling that we will be visiting "Paws R Us" once again very soon.
